If your classroom's AMS 2 Pro suddenly stops feeding filament in the middle of a print, take a breath — this is one of the easiest fixes there is, and you don't need to know anything technical about 3D printing to sort it out. Most of the time it's just a little kink or snag in the filament, and clearing it takes a few minutes.
We made this short video so you can watch exactly what to do, step by step:
A few tips that make it even easier:
- You don't need any tools for most jams — your hands are usually enough.
- Go slow. If something doesn't want to move, don't force it — a gentle wiggle almost always does the trick.
- It's okay if a student wants to watch (or help!). This is a great teaching moment about how the printer actually works.
- If you follow the video and it still won't budge, that's fine too — it just means the jam is in a slightly trickier spot, and there's more help below.
Once you've done this once, you'll realize it's really not a big deal — most classroom jams are cleared in just a few minutes.
